Javier Mercado Leon Scholarship Fund
Hugo Quintero, Eco-Alianza President, announced the establishment of the Javier Mercado Leon Scholarship Fund. The Board members of Eco-Alianza established the award to honor the memory of their founding Vice-President, Javier Mercado Leon, who taught at the University and departed last month in a tragic car accident. The scholarship in his name will be granted each year to a top student from the University. Javier Mercado inspired youth to achieve greater excellence in their studies in order to build better futures for themselves and their community. The Scholarship Committee includes Juan Perez of the University, Maciel Cortes and Laura Escobosa of Eco-Alianza.
